The triumphant result was a stunning blue diamond. At 31.06 carats, it was certified the largest flawless or internally Flawless Natural Fancy Deep Blue diamond ever graded by the Gemological Institute of America.

To celebrate this new phase in the stone’s illustrious life, the diamond was renamed ‘The Wittelsbach-Graff’ and donated by Laurence Graff for display at dedicated exhibitions at The Smithsonian in Washington and The Natural History Museum in New York – providing thousands of visitors their own opportunity to admire the most legendary and exquisite blue diamond in the world.
