The Discovery

The Lesotho Promise was discovered at the Letseng diamond mine in Northern Lesotho, a Kingdom entirely landlocked by South Africa.  The Letseng diamond mine is the highest in the world, situated some 3000 metres above sea level.

At 603 carats, the Lesotho Promise rough – although incredible in its size – was immensely complicated, with cracks, irregularities and a large piece of uncrystallised carbon located at the very heart of the stone.
